We all tend to gravitate toward something or someone that captures our imagination, especially when it overcomes the odds. When Tim Tebow threw for 316 yards on Sunday, it started a viral buzz that once again captured the attention of the entire sports world. Tebow, a devout Christian who wore the Bible verse John 3:16 painted on his eye black during the 2009 BCS National Championship game, has never shied away from sharing his faith. I have always appreciated and respected the testimony and game of Tim Tebow (even though he's a gator) because of what he represents. He has consistently used his platform to express his love and commitment to Christ. Although, his play has been critiqued and evaluated by just about anyone with an opinion, with most having a negative thought concerning his skill level as an NFL quarterback. Yet, he has managed to continue to overcome the naysayers. It brings to mind, the fact that we are constantly evaluated in the court of public opinion, and we should always strive to use our platforms in life to bring glory and honor to God. We are more than conquerors through the power of the Lord, the Bible reminds us in, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." In this new year, commit yourself to be victorious, no matter how you are scrutinized, evaluated or labeled, because through Christ we will have the victory. You may not be standing in the middle of a crowded stadium or arena, but know that God wants to lead you to victory in your life. In 2012, be assured that God will use whatever circumstances you are facing, for your good and for His glory!
